Cytryn & Velazquez had the privilege of representing an elderly woman who was injured at a very large supermarket in Margate. When store employees witnessed a man stealing inside the store, the store manager and another employee accosted him outside and asked what was in his backpack. The robber actually handed his backpack to the store employees, and they escorted him back into the store. He then struggled with them, and managed to break free. The store employees grabbed onto his t-shirt, pulling it off of him, but the shirt actually ripped off his back. As the robber fled, he ran into and smashed into an elderly woman who was walking into the store. The elderly woman suffered a broken hip and had many months of physical therapy. We represented her and sued the supermarket for negligence for not following their own rules and regulations, and obtained a very successful result for this client.
